Randall celebrates 7 years as lead guitarist, multi instrumentalist for Monkey Wrench. Randall plays lead guitar, slide, pedal steel , banjo and mandolin. They play Jacksonville's top venues. Randall is also playing with The St. Augustine Based Trio CAT 5, who are playing many of the St. Augustine's top venues on rotation, including Conch-House and Hurricane Patty's. In the summer of 2011, Randall recorded another new album or original material...this time it is self-produced and again, Randall pursues another new direction: ACOUSTIC: New Age and Fingerstyle. This album, featuring Randall on acoustic, electric guitrars, mandolin, dobro, & keyboard, is entitled NEW STUFF 4 YOU. Randall continues to explore new territiory, unlike most guitarists who will master one style, Randall continues to pursue different genres....making him one of the most versatile players in Jacksonville.
In
November 2009, Randall signed a publishing, recording and distribution deal with
ABSOLUTE MUSIC
PUBLISHING (AMP). AMP recorded and released "IN THE DOGHOUSE," recorded by Randall's performing band, ALPHA DOG. It was another new direction for Randall as he explored new country sounds on 8 of the album's 11 tracks.
Absolute will be looking to place the material

Randall has been writing, performing and producing original rock music since 1974. He achieved notoriety with Orange Hearts, who were a popular tri-state band from 1983-1987. Orange Hearts resided on the now defunct "Webster Music Services" label and were distributed by Important Records. They released a full length album and four singles, which received critical acclaim in the local Arts Press. They performed on various cable TV shows and live throughout the Tri-State area regularly.
Randall has continued to study guitar with the top names in all
genres...and has developed into an "A list" guitar player in the
Jacksonville area...over the last few years he has studied jazz
with international jazz/rock fusion icon Larry Coryell, studied locally
with top jazzers Barry Greene (UNF), Gary Starling (Jacksonville
University), and John Schaefer. He has traveled to Ohio to study
acoustic fingerstyle directly with Jorma Kaukonen, a member of the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame, former member of Jefferson Airplane and still
touring with Hot Tuna. In August 2009 he traveled to Nashville and took
a series of chicken-picken lessons from Nashville top session guitarist,
Johnny Hiland, In 2011 he took a 4 day master class with the world's top rated Country finger syylist, Tommy Emmanuel.. |
